What is ROM (Read-Only Memory)?
ROM stand for Read-Only Memory and it is the type of memory keeps the saved data even if the device power is off. This is a type of storage medium that permanently stores data on personal computers (PCs) and other electronic devices. It contains the programming needed to start a PC or smartphone. And it performs major input/output tasks and holds programs or software instructions.
ROM is read-only meaning that it cannot be changed. it is permanent and non-volatile memory. The word Read-Only identifies it as “read-only memory”, since the reprogramming process is generally infrequent, comparatively slow, and often does not permit random access writes to individual memory locations. The ROM is sustained by a small long-life battery in the computer or smartphone.
